About this trip
<p>Spiti Valley is a cold desert mountain valley located in the north-eastern part of Himachal Pradesh. The name "Spiti" means "The Middle Land", i.e. the land between Tibet and India. The region is dotted with ancient Buddhist monasteries, crystal-clear rivers, and some of the highest motorable roads in the world.</p><p>This 8-day expedition takes you through Key Monastery, Kibber village, Chandratal Lake, and the breathtaking Kunzum Pass. Expect raw Himalayan beauty with zero crowds.</p>
What you'll do
Depart from Manali early morning, cross Rohtang Pass (3,978m), halt at Grampu for lunch, arrive Kaza by evening. Check-in, acclimatisation walk.
Visit Key Monastery (4,166m), Kibber village, and Chicham Bridge. Evening at leisure in Kaza.
Full-day excursion to Pin Valley — the only national park in Spiti. Wildlife spotting and Pin Monastery visit.
Visit Hikkim Post Office, Komic village, and Langza fossil village. Panoramic views of the Spiti River.
Drive to Tabo, visit the UNESCO-tentative Tabo Monastery (996 AD). Continue to Dhankar gompa perched on a cliff.
Drive to Chandratal base, 3km trek to the breathtaking Moon Lake at 4,300m. Camping night under the stars.
Cross Kunzum Pass (4,590m) with panoramic 360° views, descend through Rohtang back to Manali.
Check-out from Manali hotel, assisted drop at bus stand/airport. Trip ends with lifetime memories.
